Spacious, Modern Design

After searching for weeks and trying another refrigerator, I found the perfect fit, and I highly recommend this model. In general, newer refrigerators run more than older ones due to their motor design, so I wanted to make sure I could live with this model™™s hum, especially since I do not have cabinets above or around the refrigerator space, only plaster walls and tile. So at the store, I pulled the refrigerator out from its location, got behind it, pulled the refrigerator back toward me, unplugged the adjacent ones, sat on the floor, and listened to its hum while it ran. To my relief, I could hear only a ™normal,™ low-pitched hum; plus, this model™™s motor and compressor have a covering that runs flush with the back of unit and helps to dampen the minimal and ™typical™ hum. Initially, I had wanted an Energy Star refrigerator and found one from Frigidaire. However, after delivery, it sounded like a high-pitched dentist™™s drill when it ran and had no cover to dampen the noise, so I gladly returned it.Because I have narrower 29™ doorways in my 1942 house, the delivery men opened the doors of both the refrigerator and freezer and sort of rotated it in, doors first, rather than removing the doors, which made delivery fairly easy. This model also moves easily on its wheels. This refrigerator has a modern exterior with clean, simple lines, and I love how both the refrigerator and freezer have a recessed lip for opening rather than an exterior handle, an especially great feature for smaller kitchen spaces. The spacious interior and adjustable shelves of both the refrigerator and freezer provide nice freedom for customizing and maximizing space. And though this model has a modest capacity of 18.3 cu. ft., it holds so much! The glass shelves look nice and also allow me to see everything in plain sight, though take care in adjusting them, and the crisper drawers roll in and out (on their small wheels) with ease. I™™m also amazed at how much I can store on the shelves on the inside of both doors, and though it doesn™™t have a built-in compartment for butter, I don™™t miss it.Some additional notes: A little bit of frost initially formed on the top of the inside of the freezer door for a couple of days, but I /gently/ pulled at the gasket/rubbery seal to stretch it a bit, and within three days the frost was gone. (In part, the frost might have formed because I had the refrigerator door open for an extended period of time to remove the protective tape and plastic after it had run a few days.) Please note, too, that if you need to adjust the temperature in either compartment, do it in small increments, one compartment at a time, as it takes each of the compartments 24 hours to adjust, and they work in tandem. Lastly, if the refrigerator has any cosmetic issues, report them within seven days of delivery.Overall, I™™m so pleased with this refrigerator and highly recommend it if you™™re looking for a nice top-freezer unit. What a fantastic model and value for the money!
